Beacon Hill Middle School/Decatur High School Slam Poets

Local poets from Decatur High School and Beacon Hill Middle School take the stage to show-off their poetry chops with animated spoken-word riffing on contemporary issues. Spoken Word is a genre of poetry specifically for performance, in which the poet communicates their ideas not only through the words of the poem but also through vocal inflection, dramatic pause, and the energy of the body.
