“My work is about human experiences and ideals that make life meaningful. Emotions, feelings, and thoughts are represented by a dynamic interplay of color and abstract geometric forms. I often aim to express energy and motion. Making sculpture naturally emerged as an extension of my painting. The intuitive ideas that are at the basis of each piece not only have a third dimension but also are less abstract and more apparent than my paintings. Importantly, my sculptural works have architectonic quality – a conscious and reverential nod to architecture. Unlike my painting process I do not use blueprints to make sculpture. The idea-to-artwork path is more direct and spontaneous which makes art making more adventurous, surprising and perhaps risky.” – Sassoon Kosian, Cranford, NJ
